Russia’s New Position on Iran..Not Different than Last Position.
According to top Russian Translation workers at leading media outlets, the Kremlin opposes U.S. and possible European oil sanctions against Iran, even if the Iranian government continues their uranium enrichment activities which U.S., E.U. and Middle astern governments claim are for military goals.
Russia, which helped design and construct Iran’s first nuclear plant, has in recent weeks has voiced its disapproval with Tehran’s nuclear ambitions. However, Iran’s ally is still in conflict with further sanctions which are expected to target the Iranian economy.
Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said on Wednesday that new sanctions would not help the west’s strategy of combatting nuclear non-proliferation and might diminish chances for future dialogue with Iran.
